La Machy, the renowned Urban Cumbia Queen, has made a triumphant return with her latest single, “Soltera” (Single Woman), the title track from her new EP. This new anthem is sure to make you sing and dance with its unique sound that distinguishes Machy’s music. Known for her charismatic voice and captivating lyrics, La Machy has once again proven why she is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
In a recent interview with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, La Machy shared insights about her new EP and the title track, “Soltera.” She revealed that the single and the EP were created in collaboration with SmokeBeatz, Luigi Giraldo, and Brian “Red” Moore. This talented team has been instrumental in producing, mixing, and mastering some of her recent hits, including “Tu Novia’, “Aqui Todo Bien,” and “CHATUM” featuring Savannah V.
La Machy explained that the EP “Soltera” is a collection of her most popular songs, all of which reflect her personal journey and experiences.
“I released ‘Solterra’, and I just called the whole album ‘Solterra’, the EP ‘Solterra’. Well, actually, I am ‘Solterra’, right? Well, I mean, I know a lot of people know about what’s going on in my life, and a lot of the songs is, you know, my true story,” said La Machy. “It started with ‘Aqui Todo Bien,’ when all of this mess started with my relationship and my divorce and stuff. So I started with that song and following ‘CHATUM’, the collaboration I did with Savannah V, which is actually the story of what happened to our relationship.”
The title track, “Soltera,” is particularly special to her as it represents her newfound freedom and independence after a difficult breakup. The song is an anthem for anyone who has gone through a similar experience and emerged stronger on the other side.
La Machy said, “I decided to do like an anthem for, for people and girls, or boys or girls, you know, females or males, they’re being passing through the same situation. They’re being betrayed and all this stuff. So, then with the time you become a single person again. It’s kind of like a continuation of what happened after a breakup, and then you’re single, which is when you have your freedom back that you missed when you were with, in a toxic relationship, right?”
The music video for “Soltera” was filmed in Corpus Christi and features a storyline that many can relate to. La Machy worked with Riz Films to bring her vision to life, and the result was a visually stunning and emotionally powerful video. The video showcases the story of a toxic relationship and the liberation that comes with breaking free from it.
