Danny shared with Tejano Nation, “If it weren’t for Jimmy Gonzalez giving me a chance to be on his stage and touring with him—not once, but twice, I wouldn’t be here today. Jimmy was not only ‘The Boss,’ he was also a great mentor and friend that is missed tremendously by myself, and the entire Tejano community.”

Now that Danny is forging his solo path, he marked his return to the Tejano scene at the Vegas Tejano Takeover’s Tejano America Fan Fest in Las Vegas, Nevada, earlier this month, where he sat down and spoke briefly with Tejano Nation as he was being embraced by fans and fellow artists alike.

Danny hails from a musical family, and his innate vocal talent began to shine at an early age. A pivotal moment came when he auditioned for and joined seven-time Grammy Award winner Jimmy Gonzalez y Grupo Mazz as a vocalist from 2000 to 2003. During his time with Mazz, Danny graced the stage alongside icons like David Lee Garza, Jay Perez, Intocable, and Ramon Ayala. Notably, he contributed to the recording of Mazz’s album “Si Me Faltas Tu,” which went on to win a Latin Grammy. His rendition of the cumbia song “Hay Otra En Tu Lugar” became a major hit in both Mexico and the United States, solidifying Danny’s presence in the music scene.

Following a hiatus from music to pursue his college education and prioritize family, Danny received another invitation from Jimmy Gonzalez in 2016. He rejoined the late Tejano legend on tour as a vocalist, remaining by his side until the legend’s final performance in 2018. Notably, Danny took the lead on the song “The Long and Winding Road” for Jimmy G’s final album.

Danny partnered with ZITRO Talent Management, a South Texas firm that is dedicated to elevating both new and established artists, Danny is poised to release his debut single in the summer of 2024, with his distinct sound and unwavering passion for Tejano music, Danny is set to make a lasting impact. When asked about his launch, Danny said, “I’m excited to come back to Tejano music, now as a solo artist, and I want my music to be a positive representation of the Tejano community.”

Danny’s debut single, “Muñeca De Cristal,” composed by legendary songwriter Beto Ramon and produced by Jay Alaniz, is set to be released on major digital music platforms.
