Two-time Latin Grammy winner Michael Salgado has released his highly anticipated new single, a corrido titled “Corrido De Ramon Ayala”, featuring music legend Ramon Ayala himself.
Salgado shared the story behind the song with Tejano Nation. “Ramon Ayala called me up himself and said there is a Corrido that was written for me and I thought of you being the one to sing it,” he said. Honored by the personal invitation, Salgado recorded the corrido at Freddie Records‘ Legends Sound Studios in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The song tells the story of Ayala’s life, a narrative that Salgado was excited to bring to life. “Music legend Ramon Ayala has always been a huge influence to me in my music career since the beginning and after all these years later to be able to do a corrido de Ramon Ayala is quite an honor,” Salgado added. “It’s a great song, which tells the story of Ayala’s life. I can’t wait for all the fans to enjoy and hear it.”
Fans won’t have to wait long to hear Salgado perform live. He is scheduled to perform at the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday, July 11. To stay up to date with new music and tour dates, follow Michael Salgado at michaelsalgado.com and on all social media platforms.
