
Legendary Tejano TV host Johnny Canales has shared a video message on social media on Monday (May 20), addressing recent reports of his health challenges that the 81-year-old has been dealing with since suffering a stroke in 2008. In the video, Canales expresses his gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and well wishes from fans and assures them that he is on the mend.
“Hello everybody, thank you for all your prayers, we’re doing real great and real good and we’re going to do better with your prayers. So, stick around we’ll be here, we’ll be around. You got it, take it away!” Canales said in the video.
Canales, a beloved figure in the Tejano community, has been a staple of Tejano television for decades. His show, “The Johnny Canales Show,” introduced many Tejano and other Latin music stars to the world, with his catchphrase “You got it, take it away!” becoming a well-known phrase in the industry.
