The award-winning Conjunto band, The Homeboyz, has been making headlines recently, not just for their music, but for an unfortunate incident involving their frontman, Elias Arredondo. During a performance at the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair in San Antonio in March, Arredondo suffered a knee injury after landing awkwardly on stage following a jump off a small trampoline.
Arredondo revealed the news of his impending surgery during an interview with The Bo Corona Show this week. “I’m going to go ahead and go under surgery tomorrow for my knee,” he said during the interview on Tuesday. As a result, The Homeboyz have postponed shows on their Full Throttle 2024 Tour while Arredondo recovers from the knee surgery.

Despite the setback, the band has not let it dampen their spirit or slow down their musical journey. They have released a new single to radio. “Te Amo” is a captivating rendition of the beloved song originally written by Roberto Livi and Rudy Perez.
“A real good friend of mine is the one who wrote it,” Arredondo shared with Bo Corona. “We basically decided to go ahead and put it on our CD. The guys, Roman Reyes also, they came up with all the compositon. Roman is the one who comes up with all the musical arrangements and all of that.”
“Te Amo” carries the essence of romance and passion, infused with the unique style and energy that The Homeboyz bring to their music. With its catchy melody and heartfelt lyrics, the band believes this track has the potential to resonate deeply with fans.
Arredondo is currently asking for donations to help with medical expenses for the surgery. Fans and well-wishers who want to support can contribute to help the frontman during this challenging time.
The Homeboyz continue to demonstrate their resilience and commitment to their music and fans, even in the face of adversity. Their new single, “Te Amo,” which is expected out on digital music platforms soon, is a testament to their unwavering passion for music and their ability to create captivating melodies that resonate with their audience. We wish Elias Arredondo a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing The Homeboyz back on stage soon.
The Bo Corona Show is heard on many radio stations across Texas weekday afternoons on Fierro HD in Dallas and Houston, Tejano 95.7/103.3 FM in San Antonio, and KLUB Tejano 106.9 in Victoria, Texas.
