
San Antonio, Texas – The Tejano music community mourns the loss of a beloved voice today. Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the vibrant host of “A Taste of Tejano” on Kansas City community radio station KKFI 90.1 FM, was tragically killed during the Super Bowl Parade of the Kansas City Chiefs in downtown Kansas City on Wednesday (Feb. 14). Her untimely passing leaves a void that resonates far beyond the airwaves.
Lisa’s passion for Tejano music was unwavering. As a DJ, she spun melodies that echoed through hearts and dance floors alike. Her voice became a bridge connecting artists, fans, and the rich cultural heritage of Tejano. From local weddings to charity fundraisers, Lisa’s commitment to the genre knew no bounds.
In honor of Lisa’s legacy, KLMO K ALAMO TEJANO 98.9 FM & 92.1 FM will dedicate this weekend’s Tejano Top 10 Countdown to her memory. Hosted by the talented Humberto Lopez, the show which airs on all Lopez Broadcasting radio station will celebrate Lisa’s accomplishments, playing her favorite tracks and sharing stories that resonate with the Tejano community.
Carlos Lopez, speaking on behalf of the entire Lopez Broadcasting familia, expressed their deepest condolences to Lisa’s family. “San Antonio never forgets those who love Tejano Music,” he said. “Lisa’s impact transcends borders, touching the hearts of listeners far and wide.
