Abel Jiménez was a talented singer-songwriter who had a promising career in the 1980s. He recorded a few singles, including the heartfelt ranchera “Ansias”, a song about longing and nostalgia. Unfortunately, he passed away when his daughter Angel was a toddler, leaving behind his music and his legacy.
Angel Jiménez grew up without knowing much about her father or her mariachi roots. She followed her own and became a master singer, winning several awards and recognition for her powerful voice and versatility.
One day, Angel stumbled upon a copy of her father’s old single, “Ansias”. She was amazed by what she heard: a beautiful melody, a passionate performance, and lyrics that touched her soul. She felt a connection with her father that she had never felt before. She decided to bring the single to her producer, the legendary Shelly Lares of LMD Productions, and ask her if they could do something with it.
Shelly was equally impressed by the song and agreed to produce a new version of it with Angel. She had an idea: why not make it a duet between father and daughter? She used her skills and technology to isolate Abel’s vocals and mix them with Angel’s, creating a stunning harmony that transcends time and space. The result is a masterpiece that honors Abel’s memory and showcases Angel’s talent.
“Ansias” is more than just a song; it is a tribute, a gift, and a miracle. It is a way for Angel to reconnect with her father and his music, and for the listeners to discover or rediscover a ranchera classic that deserves to be heard by everyone. It is a song that proves that music is eternal and that love never dies. “Ansias” is available to stream or download on all digital music platforms.
