Two-time Tejano Music Awards nominees Laura Denisse Y Los Brillantes are giving their fans a preview of what’s coming in 2024, with the official U.S. release of their latest single “Necesito Un Beso,” off their upcoming Deluxe album slated to hit the streets in March. The single, released via Mountain City Records-Nashville, sees the band fusing Tejano with the Southern country twang rooted deep in the streets of Nashville’s Music Row.
With its lovesick-themed lyrics written by lead singer Laura Denisse, the single explores the emotional struggles experienced when lovers split but can’t let go. The laid-back pace, serene accordion, the strong role of the pedal steel, and the general tone of the lyric come together perfectly, displaying the band’s indebtedness to the Tejano, Norteño and Country worlds.
“Our music is like if Texas, Nashville and Mexico met at a party and became friends,” says Laura Denisse. “The Tejano fans and radio stations have been very welcoming, and we are proud to represent this style of music, that we love so much, everywhere we go, especially in Nashville where we are re-introducing that market to a sound they knew but had not heard in a while. I’m proud of that. Tejano Lives.”
After a breakthrough year in which Laura Denisse Y Los Brillantes embarked on a national tour, reached #1 on different Tejano charts and earned Tejano Music Award nominations for Best New Group and Best New Female Vocalist, the band continues their momentum into 2024 with the launch of “Necesito Un Beso”, setting the precedent for what is to come. Along with a new album, the band is preparing for a tour that will take them across the U.S. with dates to be announced soon.
