San Antonio, Texas — Premios Tejano Mundial 2024, presented by the Tejano Music Recording Academy (TMRA) is set for Thursday February 8, 2024, at 7 pm at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium, located at 901 N Loop 1604 Acc Rd, San Antonio, Texas. The Red Carpet will commence at 5 pm.
Premios Tejano Mundial recognizes those who create and perform Tejano music. Icons, newcomers, and “all in between” are honored. Nominations for all the categories will be accepted from December 1, 2023, 12 pm CST through December 31, 2023, 12 pm CST. The nominations will be verified to ensure all qualifications are met. Voting will then begin on January 4, 2024, 12 pm CST through January 14, 2024, 12 pm CST. The winners will be announced at the 4th annual Premios Tejano Mundial on February 8, 2024.
Tejano music fans will determine the winners for Entertainer of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Group/Duo of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Social Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (Homenaje). The remaining categories (Female and Male Vocal Performances, Songwriter, Producer, Engineer, Songs of the Year) are Tejano Music Recording Academy Member-only voting categories while the Video of the Year is selected by a committee.
The returning hosts for the event are Tori Escamilla (Chicana Chisme Podcast), Bumper Gomez (Bumper’s Wacky Wednesdays), and Alec Gomez (Tejano Late Night with Alec Gomez). The Red Carpet will be hosted by April Monterrosa, KLMO 98.9 FM host, Live from the Southside Magazine owner, and KSAT 12 and “SA Live” collaborator.
The event will be livestreamed exclusively on the Roku channel, Tejano 360+. A subscription is not required.
Tejano Music Recording Academy is now accepting 2024 memberships applications and renewals. The memberships are Voting, Professional, and Student. Members are eligible to vote in Tejano Mundial Industry categories (Voting members only), two (2) Premios Tejano Mundial VIP tickets and one (1) VIP event parking.
