Shaquille O’Neal Supports Tejano Singer Angel Miranda On Premiere of Debut Music Video ‘Amor de Ayer’

San Antonio singer Angel Miranda is a Tejano newcomer, who is making waves with her debut single, “Amor De Ayer.” The song, written by Shelly Lares and El Gallo Dez (David Hernandez), is a romantic tune that showcases Angel Miranda’s vocal talent and charisma. But did you know that Miranda has a very special fan in none other than Shaquille O’Neal?

The NBA Hall of Famer and former San Antonio high school basketball star shared a video, congratulating Angel Miranda on the premiere of her music video. He also encouraged his followers to check out the song and support Tejano music.

“What up, San Antonio? My raza! This is Shaquille O’Neal. I’d like to send a shout out to Angel Miranda and the world premiere of her music video, ‘Amor De Ayer’,” O’Neal said in the video. “Congratulations and keep singing from your heart. Love you.”

Angel Miranda was overjoyed by the gesture and thanked O’Neal for his kind words. She also revealed the connection between their families and how they have been friends for a long time.

“For those of you that do not know, Shaquille O’Neal and his beautiful family have been like family to us since I was a young girl and before he went into the NBA! Shaquille’s dearly departed father, Phillip Harrison, and my grandfather, Domingo ‘Mingo’ Ramos, were best friends for many years. Shaquille lovingly calls my grandpa, ‘Uncle Mingo,’ and the Harrison/O’Neal family have remained close to us, and we are so grateful for their friendship,” Miranda wrote in a comment.

Angel Miranda premiered the music video during the Sangre Por Arte event at Hemisphere Park in San Antonio, on Friday, November 17. The event, which celebrated Latinos in the arts, included a screening of “Blood In, Blood Out” with star Jesse Borrego.

The music video for “Amor De Ayer” was directed by San Antonio native and award-winning director Daniel Ramos and his Dropzone Films.
