
Shelly Lares, Bobby Pulido, and Joe Lopez were named Top Artists at the 5th annual My Tejano Awards at the Mission Event Center in Mission, Texas on Sunday night. Lopez was the only multiple winner of the night adding Top Song for “Igual Que Ayer.”
Lares was named Top Female Artist, while Pulido and Lopez shared Top Male Artist. Lucky Joe won Top Album with Norteño y Poderoso (Tributo De Mis Idolos), while Jay Perez earned Top Collaboration for “Tu Y Yo” with his wife Roxanne Perez.
Other winners included Sunny Sauceda as Top Entertainer, La Fiebre as Top Tejano Band, and South TX Homies as Top Conjunto. Angelica Alcoser was named Top New Female and Emanuel J won Top New Male. Tejano music legend Ruben Ramos received Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The night was filled with live performances from some of the winners and tribute performances to late Tejano music legends Jessy Serrata and Joe Bravo.
