Patsy Torres is one of the most influential Tejano artists of our time and the singer, songwriter, and edutainer has released a new single that pays tribute to another influential singer, Olivia Newton-John, who passed away from on August 8, 2022, at the age of 73. The tribute is “Dedicada a Ti,” a Tejano style version of “Hopelessly Devoted To You,” an iconic song made famous by Newton-John from the classic movie “Grease.”
Torres shared why she wanted to tribute the Grammy-winning singer and actress in an interview with Fierro HD‘s Bo Corona Show on August 18. “I always admired her. I loved her in the little movie she did,” said Torres. “I saw her as pure and innocent, a lot of the singers, they would come on the scene and they’d start getting dark, you know trying to prove like, ‘Oh I’m the sexiest or I’m this!’ You know, or do outrageous things. She never did that. I respected her for that. I rememer just seeing her concerts on TV when I was younger and she’s so sweet. I guess I really liked the innocence and the sweetness.”

Torres originally recorded “Dedicada a Ti” for her 2013 album Mi Inspiracion, but decided to release it as a single with passion of Olivia Newton-John earlier this month. The song and album are avialable to stream or download on all digital music platforms.
