Javier Galvan remains in critical condition in an Abilene hospital days after he was involved in a fiery fatal crash near Winters, Texas on Sunday night. Reports of the 51-year-old singer passing away are false.
The update comes from a statement given to Tejano Nation on Tuesday from his family. “Christian & Tejano singer Javier Galvan has not passed away. He remains in critical condition,” said the statement. “The family appreciates all your love and prayers and ask for your continued prayers for everyone involved.”
The statement also confirms that there are no official GoFundMe accounts set up for Galvan at this time and advises to not send monetary donations to any crowdfunding campaigns that claim to be for Galvan.

Galvan was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene with critical injuries after his vehicle struck head-on into a vehicle driven by Marisa B. Ramos of Plainview around 10:19 pm Sunday night, according to a preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Ramos, and two of her passengers, Cissy L. Ramos and Adalynn R. Muniz, 7, died in the collision. Two other passengers, 9 and 12 year old siblings Kolbie and Keelie Ramos, were taken to Hendrick Medical Center with critical injuries.
The crash remains under DPS investigation.
Galvan is an award-winning singer, songwriter and founding member of the internationally acclaimed group Fama. After 25 years with the group, he decided to retire in 2009 to spend more time with his family and pursue a calling to serve the Lord as a full-time Christian minister. His ministry work took him throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America and South America. He most recently took his ministry to the airwaves as host of the syndicated radio show “La Fe Cafe con Javier Galvan.”
