Jay Perez released the latest single, “Contigo,” from his upcoming 25th-anniversary album on Friday (Apr. 26).
The song will be on the highly-anticipated new album from “The Voice”, 25th Anniversary Contigo, scheduled for release this summer. It celebrates 25 years as a solo artist in Tejano music for the crooner.
“We’re going to put a little twist into this album here, because we’re gonna go back to the ’90s, 2000s feel,” said Perez. “Y’all remember the Steel Rain album, we had ‘Ven A Mi’ and all those wonderful…good songs. We’re going to try to get that same feel, that same style of music into this next album.”
Perez began his career as the lead vocalist of legendary groups Latin Breed and David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales.
“I have been in the business for about 25 years,” said Perez in an interview. “I started professionally with the Latin Breed, I sang for them and recorded an album with them. Then I went off to sing with David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales for a couple of years.”
Perez has released many hit albums since beginning a solo career in the early 1990s.
“I launched my solo career in 1993 and have been doing it since. I have been blessed to have our fans supporting my music all these years,” he said.
“Contigo” from Jay Perez is available now at all digital music platforms.
