A benefit is planned for Tejano Hall Of Famer Pepe Sanchez, who is recovering after quadruple bypass surgery. He had been in a San Antonio hospital since before Labor Day weekend and also required serious foot surgery.
The Pepe Sanchez Event In The Park is scheduled for Saturday, November 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jardin De Los Heroes Park also known as West End Park in Uvalde, Texas. Featured performers include Eztilo, Herencia Musical, Celestal Decent, Ambiente Caliente and more.
Sanchez, an accomplished songwriter and musician, has been an integral part of Tejano music history, penning hit songs from as early as the 1970s for many artists now considered Tejano music legends. He has written songs for Freddie Martinez, Augustin Ramirez, Ramon Ayala, Hugo Guerrero, Los Aguilares and more.
