Singer Gabe Garcia was arrested in San Antonio early Thursday morning, accused of driving while intoxicated, according to a report.
The country singer was stopped by a San Antonio police officer on Loop 410, on the city’s northwest side, around 3:30 a.m., according to an arrest warrant. The officer reportedly saw his car veer to the left and nearly cross over the shoulder line. The warrant also states Garcia was speeding, traveling 75 mph in a 65 mph zone.
The 36-year-old singer reportedly told the officer he had four drinks and two “Vegas bomb” shots at the Thirsty Horse Saloon on Wednesday night since 9 p.m. The warrant states Garcia changed his story, later saying he had only two drinks.
According to the warrant, Garcia’s blood was drawn to determine his blood alcohol concentration level.
The singer faces a DWI misdemeanor charge and was being held at the Bexar Country magistrate’s office awaiting an appearance before a judge on Thursday morning.
The Lytle native is a former runner-up on the reality show Nashville Star.
