Tejano music legend Jay Perez responded to a Facebook post on Monday to set the record straight about an alleged incident that happened at a show in Dallas, Texas on Sunday (June 12).
A concert-goer who attended the 2016 KNON Latino Music Festival at Gas Monkey Live posted on Facebook about the singer allegedly ignoring a little girl during a meet and greet at the event.
“For all those who like Jay Perez. He’s a Real ass hole,” a post from Becky Rodriguez said. “This little girl admire him and he Ignored her all the Way. Just to do a shout out to a them hoes out there. Sorry ass artist.”
Perez responded to the post via his personal Facebook page.
“I just wanted to set the record straight for all my fans,” Perez posted. “To all our Tejano fans that know me and my band, you know we don’t turn anyone down for pictures and autographs…do NOT believe any of this woman’s CRAP!”
The singer went on to describe what he did after his performance at the festival.
“1rst of all the only little girl I saw tonight. Was on her daddy’s shoulders. I waved at her..Sang to her..She had a smile from ear to ear. 2nd..After the show I went to the green room for 2 interviews N pics with promoter & staff. 3rd..A couple took this little 7yr old boy to meet the band N take pics with us. 4th…I talked N took pics with a cancer survivor..Now!!!!….I don’t know what The hell Ur taking about lady. Ass hole??? Me??? Lol….Who’s acting like 1 by posting all this Bull Shit on my page??….Yea..I thought so..Nommmbre!!! Some Pinche Raza aint got nothing else better to do But go on people’s fb & start shit…I love it!”
Rodriguez posted photos of the festival’s performances but none of the alleged event.

First of all if anything like this had happened which we already no didnt!Dont Blast it on FB Get in touch with Mr P manager first and complain.. remember he is a performer… And so many fans want to meet these stars and sometimes its impossible…. I have a 17yr granddaughter who is terminal with JHD and when we take her to any concert i dont expect for that singer to stop and say hello to her it would be nice but shes happy just being there and thats good enough for me…. Very inmature on this lady’s part im embarrassed that this happened to you Mr P keep on smiling and do what your best at Singing and performing Dont forget to wave 👋👋

I leave in Michigan… and I travel up here to see J.P. when I can to see him in the Northern states… AND EVERY DINGLE TIME IVE APPROACHED HIM… he has never let me down … he very courteous and takes pictures….. was kind of feeling good one night … and told him I LOVED HIS BIG LIPS ( this is all according to my husband told me ) and J.P. smiled and said thank you ..and STILL took a pic w/ my drunk self …lol … What a GUY !!!! 😙😚😘😊😉

I HAVE KNOWN JAY PEREZ SINCE I WAS 12 YEARS D AND I SURE DO FOLLOW HIM TO A LOT OF HIS GIGS AND NOT ONCE HAS HE IGNORED ME OR TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH ME OR MY DAUGHTER.. THERE ARE TIMES THAT HE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE PICTURES WITH EVERYONE BUT A ASSHOLE HE IS NOT!!!! IF U HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY ABOUT THE VOICE KEEP YOUR NEGATIVE COMNENTS TO YOURSELF!!! I’ve gotten pics and autographs, even when he’s was walking to his car. (with his woman at hand) But that don’t make me $@! LOL!
I’ve never seen him turn down any autographs nor pics when he’s in the ATX. Unfortunetly people have to understand he’s an artist. Time is a factor, one to the next show!

that lady is crazy. I have seen J severl times, I live in New Mexico and when he has performed in the area he is always approchable. My wife and daughters ran into J and his spouse at Margatitas in San Antonio. We just passed and said hello, we were not stopping to bother him, and he got up from his table and took a picture with my daughter. She did not even ask him. Lady you have a lot to learn about the voice. Mr. Perez is a class act. some people like to talk crap. to this person that posted that you are an A-HOLE.

I have been a fan of Jay many years. Funny you say Jay will give you the shirt off his back, he actually did just that to my daughter after a concert many years ago . My family and I are big fans of Jay, the brotha got mad skills. I have followed Jay for many years and in various states and never witnessed anything but love for his fans. I’m sorry the young lady had a bad experience but that’s not the Jay we know and love. Jay you keep doing your thing, we appreciate you.
