(AustinVida) – Saturday night October 17th will be another great Rancho Alegre Conjunto good time at the Moose Lodge!
We will be celebrating MY birthday, along with our one-year anniversary on KOOP radio with a listener appreciation party featuring CONJUNTO ALL NIGHT LONG at our very own eastside family dancehall!
Don’t miss the legendary Chano Cadena, Austin’s own world-famous Los Texas Wranglers with a special appearance by Devin Banda, plus the Conjunto Cats and Ricardo y Los Diamantes!
Alice, Texas native Chano Cadena is one of Conjunto’s forefathers. With a career spanning six decades, the accordion master is still at it, his signature classic style still packing dance floors from Corpus Christi to the RGV to San Antonio.
Austin’s own Los Texas Wranglers will bring their special brand of Conjunto to the evening as well. Capable of doing everything from Conjunto to Country to Tejano and Rock, the award-winning veteran group always put on a great show.
The Conjunto Cats are an up-and-coming family-style band with a super bright future. Led by bajista Art Campos, the group features his son, 12-year-old Zeke Campos on Accordion. Lots of good vibes from this group
Making their Moose Lodge debut will be another family band, Ricardo y Los Diamantes. 14-year-old Ricardo Negrete plays accordion, sax and also teams up with his dad Homero on vocals. Really looking forward to hearing them play live.
And last, but certainly not least, will be rising Tejano star Devin Banda. She’ll be performing a couple of her singles, PLUS she’ll be joining the Wranglers on stage for something special later in the evening!
Long story short: This will be a miniature, one-night-only version of our Rancho Alegre Conjunto Festival. The environment is friendly and relaxed, and no one’s a stranger. It’ll be nearly impossible to keep from dancing. And we’ll have menudo, frito pies, nachos! Exclusive t-shirts and more! And the Moose has a full bar. AND the cover’s super cheap!
The Austin Moose Lodge is located at 2103 E.M. Franklin Ave, just east of Airport Blvd off of MLK. Doors open at 5 p.m. Cover is $7 per person or $10 per couple, available online or at the door. All ages welcome, kids under 12 years old are free. For more information, call 512-609-9208. Follow the Facebook event here.
