Buenas tardes!
Estas listo for tonights’s episode of the great novela#BajoelMismoCielo on #Telemundo?
No kidding, tonight’s episode will be fantastic because from the Coming Attractions, it looks like Carlos will finally meet his long-lost imprisoned son Rodrigo, who only wants to be known as El Faier.
In this respect, Rodrigo is a little bit like Prince, except if Rodrigo had his way he would be known as “El Faier,” the La Colonia Gang Leader formerly known as Rodrigo.”
People will say that crime doesn’t pay, and while I generally agree, I think one thing we can see from #BajoelMismoCielo that Crime Definitely Pays Off in the Romance Department.
First, Adela stole Carlos’ truck, and look what happened to her!
She met the love of her life, lives in Carlos’ lovely house with his son Luis who by all accounts isn’t the most annoying teenager in the world, (although it’s early and I think he has about 5 1/2 months to become a lot worse), she has a fun dog to play with, she can’t cook but no one seems to mind, and she was able to give herself a FANTASTIC haircut.
Some girls go on Match.com, some girls ask their friends to fix them up, but that Adela stole a truck and now will never need a date for a wedding again.
If things don’t work out with Carlos, I suggest a Reality show is in her future: We can follow Adela around cinema-verite style, and watch her commit crimes and find True Love at the same time. As long as the “Victims” have good insurance, I think they’d be lining up. It can be called “Adela Morales: Hot Wired!”
Or something like that.
And Carlos has gained a lot as a crime victim in this case: He met the love of his life, and she happens to know where his missing son Rodrigo/El Faier is – Tier Ten, Division 9, Folsom. Of course, things will be awkward for everyone when Rodrigo gets out because Adela is his sworn enemy, or he is her sworn enemy. I can’t remember which way it goes, but either way it’s bad and I wouldn’t let either one of them near the carving knife at Thanksgiving Dinner.
And even El Faier has benefitted romantically from crime because now he has a beautiful new girlfriend, prison nurse Greicy Cordero, who can probably have any man she wants but she wants one who she can keep tabs on at night.
Greicy and El Faier spend a lot of time in the Prison Law Library making out, which is a change of pace from the usual Prison Law Library routine of plotting murders of other inmates, plotting murders of witnesses, plotting murders of guards, sending gang and narcotics messages across tiers through library books,
and annoying the librarian by all taking out about 1,000 books sporadically over the course of a month, and then returning them all on the same day.
Oh no wait, that last bit was me and my friends in high school during Senior Week.
We were pretty wild.
I never expect telenovelas to get gangs and crime exactly right, because if they did, there would be an uprising in this country when the public saw how boring and dumb gang members really are.
BUT I have to tip my hat to #BajoelMismoCielo for the 1000% accuracy of the scene where El Faier and the EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT gang chief El Colmillo communicate through the prison toilets.
Watching two grown men communicate with one another through a prison toilet is better than any “Scared Straight” program I have ever seen. No one, even when they are sick, ever wants to get that close to a toilet.
Don’t miss tonight’s episode! I LOVE this novela!
Gracias!
