AUSTIN – The first auditions for the 2015 edition of Tejano Idol have been set for April 19, 2015 at El Gallo Restaurant in Austin, competition officials announced Wednesday.
The Austin Tejano Music Coalition, the non-profit organization that sponsors Tejano Idol, is in search of future Tejano Music stars. The statewide singing contest has been initiated to highlight Tejano Music and showcase unknown talent. Amateur singers of all ages are asked send an email to Aggie Saldana-Sanchez, at aaggie54@yahoo.com, if you plan to attend this audition.
Auditions are from 2:00 til 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at El Gallo Restaurant, located at 2910 South Congress.
Past Tejano Idol contestants include 2011 winner Ashley Borrero and 2011 contestant Angel Gonzalez, both now with Angel Gonzalez y Grupo Vimana, 2012 runner-up Devin Banda, 2013 contestant Marisa Cortez and 2014 winner Erica Rangel.
