San Antonio Tejano radio station, KLMO 98.9 & 92.1 FM, is making waves in the music scene with their new show, “The Hottest Night in Tejano Radio.” This show is dedicated to showcasing all new music from all your favorite Tejano music artists, every Tuesday from 6pm-8pm.
Running the board as producer of the show is veteran DJ Adam “Ace” Garcia, a long time video cameraman, and truck operator for KENS 5 TV, with mobile DJ “Uncle” Earl Hudson, and “La Che” Delmi Nieto, radio personality for KLMO, TV Host for Totally Tejano Television, co-host at “La Che & DJ Mondo Loko”, TV producer for News 4 WOAI & FOX KABB, Business Consultant for Cox Media, instructor and Director for Barbizon Modeling School, and Tejano Nation contributor.
KLMO 98.9 & 92.1 FM started broadcasting in San Antonio to help fill a void after a well-established Tejano radio station moved to AM from FM.
“You have to evolve, you have to keep playing new artists in order to survive,” said Carlos Lopez of the pioneering Lopez family-owned radio broadcasting group of South Texas. “Tejano is what makes San Antonio a very special place.”
Earl Hudson, hailing from Del Rio, Texas, but with roots running deep in San Antonio, has worn many hats throughout his life, starting with a television career. However, his true passion lies in music. He’s spent considerable time as a DJ and MC at various clubs in San Antonio, including working with Sounds Unlimited Mobile DJ, a passion he continues to pursue to this day. While he enjoys spinning various music genres, Tejano music holds a special place in his heart. His journey into the world of Tejano music began when he teamed up with his compadre, Albert Garza, known as Disco Al, who was a DJ on the Southside. It was during this collaboration, that Earl’s love for Tejano music truly blossomed. Three years later, Earl has carved a niche for himself in promotions and sales. He’s now responsible for conducting live remote broadcasts across the city and selling KLMO 98.9FM/92.1FM merchandise.
One of his long-time dreams came true when fellow radio personality Nieto, with the permission of Homer Lopez, owner of KLMO, gave him an opportunity to join her show, as a co-host, highlighting all new artists on KLMO 98.9 & 92.1 FM. The show was an instant hit and loved by many loyal listeners and fans. Earl stands out with his deep love for Tejano music as a Black man, with a passion that sets him apart. If you’re looking for a good time and enjoy laughter, you’ll find a great friend in him. In Earl’s own words, “Never let anyone steal your joy! Always keep smiling.”

“La Che” aka Delmi Nieto, got her radio show name from from KLMO Program Director DJ Jale (Andy Olvera) after listening to her father’s song, a catchy rhythmic, traditional Conjunto cumbia, with her grandpa, Pedro Nieto, getting down on the saxophone, her uncle, Pete Nieto, Jr, on vocals, her uncles Luis and Toribio Nieto on guitar and bass, and her beloved dad, Juan or Johnny Nieto, on drums, titled “El Che“ by Conjunto Recuerdo de Los Hermanos Nieto, hailing from Pearsall, Texas.
When La Che, was asked to join KLMO, to showcase all new Tejano artists, DJ Jale, thought it was a perfect theme intro song for the radio show. La Che’s radio show was on for a year on KLMO, highlighting all new Tejano artists. Delmi, from Pearsall, Texas, or P-Town, as all the natives call it, is considered to be a jack of all trades, a smart business woman, and is no stranger to the music scene, coming from a musical family background and the business aspect of it. From producing live TV news, lifestyle shows, live DVD music concerts, co-hosting music shows, interviewing music artists, teaching future generations the basics of photo movement, runway techniques, projecting self-confidence, public speaking, television commercial aspects and more.

She has now joined forces with Earl and Adam to bring listeners all the new music en La Onda Tejana. “For me, it’s all about the music, helping everyone I can along the way. Ensuring that our rich beautiful culture of Tejano music, is instilled to all future generations and make sure it lives on forever, by dancing and feeling each beat, lyric, in our hearts on God’s great dance floor. And I’m super grateful to God and KLMO, to be able to make one of Earl’s dreams come true by having him on my show and hopefully for many others as well by playing their music, and being able to do what I love in helping others.”

General manager and owner of KLMO, Homer Lopez, stated “Just the fact that we want to focus on new music and upcoming artists as well, and being able to do live remotes, has always been one of our mottos and glad we are able to do so, and this new live show does just that. “
You can tune in and watch KLMO’s newest radio show, “The Hottest Night in Tejano Radio, “ every Tuesday from 6pm-8pm, on Facebook live, the KLMO app, and ROKU. Tune in for a night of new music and good vibes!
